Ripple Path Services provides community-based support for youth and families who may require additional structure, supervision, guidance, or consistent support. Our services are designed to address practical needs while supporting stability, participation, skill development, and greater independence.

Families raising a child in foster or kinship care, a child with a developmental disability, or a young person approaching adulthood often need support that public systems cannot always provide quickly. Ripple Path Services was created to provide support families can access directly, without waiting for an eligibility determination or program capacity to open up.
Whatcom County has established organizations doing this work, and Ripple Path Services refers families to them regularly. Ripple Path Services was created to provide an additional, direct point of access alongside those organizations, with the same attention to documented, goal-based planning.
Ripple Path Services is limited in scope by design: one county, eight programs, and young people from birth through twenty-one. This allows us to do a defined set of things well rather than a broader set adequately.
What we hold to
Three commitments.
Preparation before placement
Everyone working directly with a family is required to complete Washington State background screening and role-specific preparation before working with that family. For coaching and mentorship roles, hiring priority is given to candidates who have lived through foster care or the developmental disability system.
Written goals and recorded progress
Every engagement opens with goals set alongside the family, with progress recorded against them at agreed intervals. Families receive that record, and referring professionals receive it with written consent.
Honesty about fit
If a family needs something we do not provide, or clinical treatment outside our scope, we say so at the first conversation and point toward organizations that do provide it. A family in difficulty should not spend three weeks in an intake process that was never going to lead anywhere.
Purpose
To provide children, young people, and families in Whatcom County with support that is prepared, documented, and available when they need it.
Funding
Services are privately funded. Flexible payment arrangements and sliding-scale options may be available, discussed during intake. We raise it early, because a family should understand the arrangement before they come to depend on the support.
